Electrical Panel Design

FirePro fire suppression systems are an ideal choice for protecting electrical panels from fire hazards. By releasing a potassium-based aerosol that quickly disperses throughout the panel, the system can effectively extinguish a fire before it has a chance to spread and cause damage.

Electrical fires account for up to 50% of all building fires.

Electrical cabinets can become fire hazards if they do not limit the high flow of current flowing through the circuit.

When current is not properly controlled, it can lead to a buildup of heat that can cause electrical wires to overheat, which in turn can cause insulating materials to melt. Once these materials melt, any surrounding flammable materials can easily ignite, exacerbating the fire hazard and increasing the potential for significant damage.

As a result, it is important to take steps to ensure that electrical cabinets are designed and maintained to safely limit and control the flow of current, and that appropriate fire suppression measures are in place to minimize the risks of electrical fires.

Electrical Panel Fire Suppression Issues

Ventilation

Ventilation vents help keep the temperature of electrical components inside the enclosure within certain design limits. These vents pose a serious challenge to fire suppression technologies that require a completely sealed enclosure to be effective.

Crowded Cabinets

Electrical components are typically packed tightly into cabinets to save space and provide more efficient automation. This limits the space for positioning fire suppression systems to protect cabinets directly at the source.

Proximity to flammable material

If a fire in an electrical cabinet is not extinguished in time, it will spread and ignite combustible materials nearby. In the case of electrical rooms, electrical cabinets adjacent to the burning one will be at risk.

Why FirePro.

Leakage

FirePro fire suppression technology is capable of handling small openings in the enclosure that can lead to agent loss.

Compactness

Thanks to their compact size, FirePro generators are an ideal solution for electrical cabinets, as they can fit inside the panel, providing direct protection. The smallest generator in the FirePro series has dimensions of 32 mm (diameter) and 180 mm (height).

Easy to install in new or retrofit projects.

FirePro generators are an "all-in-one" container and are equivalent to the agent storage tank, piping, and nozzles of a pressurized gas system. They are installed directly in the hazard enclosure, without the need for additional space for the system.
